I emailed this to Simon Courtney and his comment was,
If that monkeys bike had a sweet rack on the front I would fill it with beers so it could ride to any emergency beer situation, the rest of the day it would polish by copper bike.
Hagan posted some shots from last night on CGK www.thecgk.com. This one of Mike Davies passing Justin is dope. It was fun – passing is definitely possible. Timed single runs will be the main event. But check out what Mike and Muzzle were up to:
I got word form Andy from Fyxomatosis http://fyxomatosis.com/ He emailed and said he won the alley cat in Aussie on the weekend and now can afford to fly across to NZ! See you Saturday bro!
Justin and I just had the first shred on the Red Bull Mini Drome, it’s easy to wind up some speed and pick high lines to drop you onto the straights at speed, this should be interesting. It takes 5 seconds to do a lap and after 10 you start getting a bit dizzy. Roll on over tonight from 6pm and try it for yourself.
All the angles worked out and one end is close to finished. It’s getting close to time to trial it out before it’s dismantled ready to take it to the venue. I think we should session it on Monday after work for a couple of hours. This will let people get used to it so they can make bike mods ready for the main event and not have to worry about getting used to riding it on race night. So if you are keen to come and check it out come to 27 Hargreaves St, just up from the Red Bull office on Monday from 6pm.
This is my synopsis: Trick bikes will have an advantage. Low ratio BMX gearing, wider tires, riser bars, lower seat. Spin the shit out of this thing for more control.
Hagan and Mike D have been working on a special photography project where each of them shoots 10 local riders and they choose 12 of their best shots to hang in the gallery space in the Studio venue. They have been working hard on harvesting photos and they tell me they are really happy with the results. You can see them all in the Studio on the night of Red Bull Mini Drome.
Big thanks to Sean Wallace from Radar Films. Stay tuned for more – the build is coming along nicely – some cool announcements soon.
